Development update:

Greetings, players! We're still working hard on improving Yggdrasil. Our latest work is:

1. Complete Auction House Bot rewrite: 3 weeks ago, we launched brand new AH bot, run by Twiggy! He will serve you with the goods you need to continue your adventures. For those interested in specifics, it's a hot-compiled Lua script that database-loads all items with auction reload instantiation. Source code: https://github.com/mostlynick3/azerothcore-lua-ah-bot
2. Opt out of Quality of Life improvements: For players that prefer the original experience, it is now possible to disable level rewards by going to Esc -> Features -> Uncheck "Receive Level-Up Rewards".
3. Core updated to AzerothCore rev. 82bc814858c2f9f507bfa707fce1b2507d6afaed: We partake in AzerothCore's open-source development and are very fortunate to similarly be able to benefit from the AzerothCore community's expertise. This update features vast grid loading and map handling corrections, amongst other things rectifying issues with unloaded maps causing client crashes in exceptional cases. We are thankful to the whole community, and to you, for helping find issues to improve the core!
4. Minor bug fixes and feature changes: See change-log from today for more information. 

Current focus: Our current focal tasks are:

1. Implementing forum solution: After ironing out some final kinks, we trust we will be ready with it soon!
2. Better load handling of website solutions: To ensure we will never be DDOS-able, we are improving our middleware versus edge traffic distribution.
3. Improvement to Shadows' scripting: We also partake in the active development of mod-playerbots, the base of Shadows, and are currently helping improve LK tactics. 

And just in case you have missed some of our last changes:

• You no longer need to download a patcher addon! We now send it to you through the anticheat warden communication. All clients are automagically updated!

We've been busy with more dev work, including:

Updates:

1. Automatic patcher addon! All players now get automatic client patches on login. Current patches include:
2. In-game store (see screenshot). The patcher addon lets you view our in-game store to spend your Tokens, get special vanity items and mounts, and useful raiding supplies. Access it through the game's options menu.
3. Cross-faction unit frame dropdown menu.
4. Twiggy's spell tooltip now refers to Twiggy!
5. Numerous Yggdrasil Store tooltips corrected.
6. The auction house deposit price now shows the reduced amount (20%).
7. Improvements to shadows, items, and vote statistics on the website.

Shadows:

1. Shadows will now participate in Free For All looting.
2. Shadows will no longer randomly swap gear. To have your shadows swap gear, you must now whisper them "inv" to see their inventory and reply "e [link item to equip]".
3. Swapping toons between your played character and your shadows will no longer disband your party if you are in an instanced map (dungeons, raids).
4. Other players' shadows will no longer ask to be invited to your group in response to addon chatter.

Items:

New items introduced and available through the in-game store:

1. Twiggy's Tonic: A reusable Potion of Haste.
2. Twiggy's Scroll of Wisdom: A scroll that contains the buffs of all rank 8 buff scrolls. Can be applied to other players.
3. The Trunk of Yggdrasil: A 36-slot bag, will be available in the store shortly.

Vote statistics:

A sidebox list of the top voters of all time and for the current month is now present on the website. Remember, voters with streaks exceeding 7 days will get double the Vote Tokens! Thank you for supporting our growth.

New year, new vote lists!

Happy new year, everyone! Every new year is a bringer of change. One of these changes is that (many) vote lists have reset. To ensure we set ourselves up for visibility and growth, it's important that we all collaborate to vote Yggdrasil up on the vote sites.

Each vote is awarded a Vote Token, exchangable in-game for vanity items and various currencies. New in 2025, however, is that each player that has voted for at least 1 week consecutively, will get 2x Vote Tokens per vote from day 8 for as long as the streak is active!

Development update

Greetings, players! The last few weeks we've worked on a number of smaller changes to increase the Quality of Life for your gameplay on Yggdrasil.

Stability:

- Every time we have a server crash or hiccup, we bring out our best diagnostics tools.
- We had three crashes on 2024-11-27 caused by events scheduled on dereferenced creatures (ICC gunship and Zel'frax).
- An I/O issue also led to a stuck MySQL thread on 2024-12-01.
- These issues have now been worked out.

Quality of Life Changes:

1. Auction House changes: Max auction duration has been extended from 48 hours to 7 days based on player input.
2. Website changes: We have made a PvE statistics page on the website (https://yggdrasilwow.com/pve_statistics). Kudos to Xeen for leading the LK kills scoreboard! It currently covers ICC. Drop us a suggestion if you want more raids/encounters covered!
3. Dalaran Enchanter changes: As we now have a permanent presence of players with enchanting on the server, the Dalaran Enchanter is no longer needed. Accordingly, he will be phased out during December. On 2024-12-15, we are increasing the price of the Dalaran Enchanter's services to 5 Vote Tokens per enchant. Come year end, he will retire and his services will no longer be available.
4. Crossfaction Shadows: Shadows now support crossfaction interaction.

More Updates!

This time around, we bring the following changes:

1. Shadows

Introducing Shadows, the perfect opportunity to extend your gameplay by allowing you to log in up to two of your alts as party bots while you control your favorite character! Quick summary:
- From level 15 and up, look for the Time-Lost Void in your bag to get started. Your Shadows are active for as long as they are in a party with you.
- Their main usecase and design is geared towards dungeons, but they can also partake in open-world gameplay and raiding.
- This functionality is based on the AzerothCore playerbots module with additional custom adjustments to align better with Blizzlike gameplay.
- While the Shadows can be managed effectively using simple chat-based messages, for those that prefer a graphical way to interact with them, consider looking into the Unbot addon.
- Shadows must be within 10 levels of you, applicable to enter the zone you're trying to bring them to, and above level 15.

2. Redesigned Respawn Times on Gatherable Objects

We've made significant changes to the respawn times of gatherable objects. Pool sizes have been increased between 20% to 40% based on extensive testing and player input for most zones. Additionally, average respawn times have been reduced by between 20% to 50% depending on the zone and gather pool. High respawn-time pool entries would shift low respawn-time entries up as they'd become averaged, which these changes accommodate for.

3. Login Screen News

Important updates, notifications and more will now be shared to all players through the character selection screen.

Scheduled Maintenance

Tomorrow morning, Thursday 2024-11-14, the server and website will be inaccessible for 1 hour between 07:00-08:00 AM server time for implementation of updates.

Update Day!

Some of our recent work is finally ready for you! This time around, we bring the following changes:

1. Feathers of Azeroth revamped

Your Feathers of Azeroth are now able to wrap the wings of your current mounts with their feathers to let you use your normal flying mounts all over Azeroth! You can also select a standard mount that auto casts on using the Feathers. The mount applied is now persistent and will not reset its pitch on zone changes nor randomly fall off, as opposed to the flight form used previously.

2. Transmog Tokens are now Activity Tokens

By popular demand, Transmog Tokens have been repurposed to Activity Tokens. As you may already know, these can already be used at the Transmog Item vendor and for EoT at the Exchanger. Over time, you will be able to spend your Activity Tokens at various vendors at the mall.
Note: If you still see them named Transmog Tokens in-game, you may have to clear your cache. The name that you see will not affect whether you can use them or not.

3. RAF Changes

RAF duration has been extended to 60 days and more activities (such as entering combat and earning reputation and gold) now grant RAF progress for the referrals.
